Problem message

Since we've changed over to the updated system, we've had some good successes, however, just a few some things are still not working. Chat: no. Gallery, no, not yet -- soon, we hope.

Also, the articles. Almost all are working, but... we have to go through each one and "edit" it and then it seems to work and not be gibberish. Stuff to work on. Notice the quietness of the Peco... Peco Dee is studying hard.

The Dogs Place

The Dogs Place is a website where people from all over, from all walks of life can come together as friends, through the eyes of their pets. It's a place where it's fun to be. Show your pride and your love for your dogs, your cats - all your animal friends. Like a dog park, this is a place where we can all come together to have fun, to play and just revel in our animals.

Some of What We Have

We now have a photo gallery where you can post photos of dogs, cats and other animal members of your family :-) We have added chat and we have the Phories (photo/stories) going.

Registration is Free and once your in you can post pics, stories, your links and other cool dog stuff from around the world. Were open to any suggestions on how to improve the site. We will also be working on the Pet Health and Product Reviews areas, along with the "Links" area to share all the great pet sites. So feel free to stop in and register and start Barking with EveryPawdy. Woof wOOF!

Chopper's Health Tip of the Week:

April 25, 2009

Hot Weather Care

Summer is a time of fun activities that you can share with family and pets. Most animals began to feel uncomfortable when temperatures are above 85 degrees. Here are some summer tips to keep in mind.
  • NEVER LEAVE your pet in your vehicle. The sun can raise the temperature inside your vehicle to 120 degrees in a matter of minutes, even with the windows down.
  • WATER, WATER. Both humans and animals need a lot of water in the summer whether they are inside or outside. Check several times daily to make sure your pet has enough water. Be careful of outside water, because bacteria can quickly form in the summer heat in a water bowl.
  • USE SUNSCREEN. Pets need sunscreen, just like humans do. Keep your pet out of the direct sunlight between 10 am and 4 pm. It is a good idea to rub sunscreen on the tips of ears, the skin around the lips and the tip of the nose of your pet.
  • MAKE SURE YOUR PET DOES NOT OVEREXERT in the summer heat. Exercise is important but overdoing it can cause your pet to overheat. Walks can be at a gentle pace. If your pet is panting a lot, it is time for a rest.
  • TAKE IT EASY on the elderly, very young and ill pets. They have a harder time regulating their body temperatures.
  • BRING YOUR PET INSIDE when the temperatures are too warm for them.
  • SIGNS OF OVERHEATING are excessive panting, glazed eyes, vomiting, collapse and becoming anxious. If you see any of these signs, give your pet water, spray them down with water and take them to a cool spot. If your pet does not respond, take them to the vet immediately.

Dogphoria

Many of you were on DogPhoria (called "DP" by its members), a great place that died too early   We hope to keep a little of that spirit alive, to let friendships continue and to make some new friends too. We all miss the experience we had on DP... our hope is to bring some of that back.

And, an Important part of DP lives on!

An Important part of DP was their "Phories" -- basically a blog where you could post important brags and milestones for your "Pals" to read and then "tailwag" (comment) It was cool. Since the demise of DP, we've been looking for a way to bring that experience to our visitors. We've got it, or something close. Yep, basically a blog on here. We are calling them "Phories" as a homage to DogPhoria (*Lori, if this is unacceptable, please let me know). As it goes right now, it says Phory almost everywhere except in the Phory listing (and that will be fixed in the next day or two). To go to our Phories area, just click the button above (you have to be logged-in to see it)...

Posting Phories and Resizing pix...

To write your Phories and upload your photos (along w/ directions to resize and crop), just click here.

 Rules

And alas, we have added some rules - simple stuff though, things like you learned in Kindergarten. Rules are important - they're important for the dog pack and they're important in our life. Please click here to review our simple rules.

A Goal!

One day, we hope to generate enough funding from this site to be able to donate to various animal charities and organizations since most of us are 'rescues" ourselves. Once we get to that point, a percentage of all proceeds generated will be donated and posted for public review. Right now, we only have enough to keep the site up and running but we're trying to make a difference! We want to keep this site alive and well! We want to keep this place fun and exciting! All of us dog lovers have one thing in common - our dogs!! Showing off our furbabies is a hobby of any dog parent and meeting new dog parents is what keeps us going!! Keeping that in mind - post away - we can never have enough pictures! We hope to bring dog lovers together and give everyone and happy, positive place to chat, share photos, and ask dog related questions. We're here to share the good times and the bad, right along with you - we're dog people and we're all in this together!

And of course...

Zoey smilin' like only she can! Please bear with us as we build the site. Take the time to fill out your profile and know that we plan on redoing and adding heavily to that area (so your input is requested). Please visit our photo gallery and add some photos of your own :-)

In the meantime, why not introduce yourself on the Forum!
